Season 4 Episode 8:

The Importance of Life Preparations with Pat Miles & her new book, Before All Is Said and Done

Pat Miles Zimmerman was a revered part of the Twin Cities media landscape for more than a quarter of a century. A former TV news anchor for WCCO-TV and KARE 11, she was also the creator and host of A Pat Miles Special for KARE and rounded out her career as host of The Pat Miles Show on WCCO Radio. A role model for women in the industry, Pat has won numerous accolades, including the National Television Academy’s Silver Circle Award and induction into the Minnesota Broadcast Hall of Fame. Now, Pat is best selling author of Before All Is Said and Done.

This new book (Oct 2022) begins with the experience of Pat and her husband, Charles “Bucky” Zimmerman. Pat and Bucky were fully set for life but, regrettably, not set for death. Pat opens up to share how she navigated the realities surrounding dying and widowhood in our culture. She reveals how her husband’s untimely death deeply affected every aspect of her life and parallels how other women have dealt with the grief, financial upsets and daily life changes that come with such painful loss. She balance those stories with practical advice from therapists as well as financial, legal and medical experts. Readers will appreciate this common sense guide to preparing for and dealing with one of life’s greatest challenges.

"In our minds, we were set for life, but as it turns out, we were not set for death." - Pat Miles
